Mesken Haule B.V. is a company specialising in the construction of packaging machines for natural fibres, pulp and a variety of waste products.
The balers press wood shavings, sawdust, chopped hay or straw, hemp wood, glass fibre, glass wool or other similar products in an efficient way. At the LIGNA exhibition in Hannover, Germany, Mesken Haule B.V. presented the renewed concept for pressing and packaging wood shavings the company had put on the market just before.
The production capacity of 450 to 500 bales per hour corresponds to that realised by two single packaging machines. Depending on model and type, this double, two-output machine can produce bales of 15 to 30 kilos of wood shavings or sawdust. The wood shavings are weighed before being fed to the pressing chamber. There, hydraulic cylinders press the bales into correct width and length, after which they are pressed into a plastic bag formed by a folding shoulder.
During this action, the bag for the next bale is formed and sealed right away while the cycle for the next bale has already started. Because the cycles run through one another, work can be done efficiently.
It is also possible to let the machine produce different bale sizes at the same time, for instance, 20-kilo bales of sawdust combined with 25-kilo bales of wood shavings.
The machine has been developed further using existing techniques and materials in order to increase reliability and minimise maintenance. A single feeder line suffices for the supply of the base materials. This double packaging press requires an investment that is thirty per cent less compared with two single presses. The big benefit of this machine is its compact and low build.
